DESCRIPTION: White peony flower extract has strong anti-oxidant properties and intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) inhibition. It exhibits a vitamin D-like glycoside activity, which promotes protein synthesis. It contributes to a more even skin tone and reduction in skin-inflammatory conditions. It has an anti-photoaging effect from both UVB and UVA radiation, making it a good addition to anti-ageing preparations.
White peonies could also be beneficial in treating acne conditions due to their anti-bacterial properties. Peonies contain paeonol, which is anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and skin soothing. While the compound paeoniflorin is used for treating pigmentary disorders and reducing the severity of some hyperpigmented skin disorders.
