DESCRIPTION: Inositol – also known as Vitamin B8, is a rice-derived vitamin for skin conditions recovering from bleaching, vitiligo, and other depigmenting disorders, with potent multifunctional benefits. Inositol is beneficial in the treatment of bleached skin wants to restore the normal function and health of the melanocyte cells. It will help activate the skin-darkening process and helps keep the melanocyte cells healthy.
It is an intelligent molecule – an osmolyte; able to moisturize the skin continuously. Osmolytes are low molecular weight organic compounds that help maintain the integrity of cells. They carry water with them into cells restoring the normal volume and hydration levels of the cells. Inositol helps stimulate keratinocytes and fibroblast metabolism. It improves skin oxygenation and elasticity, combating signs of aging.
In one study, consecutive use of inositol from 0 – 6 weeks was able to restore the skin to a moisturized condition and keep it that way for a long time. It is suitable for dry skin treatments – changing the skin condition to be hydrated. It also helps balance out combination skin. For combination skin types, it helps balance out the oiliness and dryness of the skin.
In hair care, inositol supports hair growth. It stimulates cell production and prevents oxidative stress from causing damage to hair follicles. Therefore it is a good additive in the promotion of hair growth and prevention of hair loss.
