Traditionally, it has been used to cure the skin of boils, swelling, itching, eczema, erysipelas, etc. It is suitable to pair with irritating ingredients to reduce irritation. As an anti allergenic, it reduces histamine production.
In anti-acne skincare, it has some bacterial properties and reduces the inflammation of the skin. In skin brightening, it adds radiance to the skin, being a natural source of glutathione and glutathione reductase; Glutathione is an ingredient that stabilizes vitamin C, and glutathione Reductase helps stabilize glutathione. In anti-ageing skin, it helps the skin retain its vitality and serves as a muscle relaxant – helping to keep fine lines and wrinkles at bay.
Purslane also contains several vitamins, namely A, B1, B2, C, and E, Omega-3 fatty acids Purslane flavonoids, Norepinephrine. which acts to reduce skin irritation
