Retinol Peptide-31(Myristoyl Tripeptide-31) is an anti-ageing peptide that prevents signs of ageing such as wrinkles and mottled pigmentation and firms up the skin. It is also known as an alternative to retinol because of its retinoic acid-like benefits minus the irritation. Therefore, it is a good alternative, especially for those sensitive to retinol. It also inhibits the exaggerated anti-inflammatory response of the skin to stress, normalizing the skin’s response. It links myristic acid with the peptide. It contracts the pores. It can be used in anti-wrinkling, anti-ageing, skin brightening, skin firming and anti-inflammatory products.
Retinol Peptide-31 promotes the production of type 1 procollagen and inhibits the transcription and translation of matrix metalloproteinase MMP-1 gene, reversing photoaging-related skin changes (wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and enlarged pores). Retinol Peptide-31 smoothens fine lines and wrinkles, and increases collagen production, thereby inhibiting and reversing fine lines and wrinkles, normalizing the skin’s response to UV irradiation and brightening the appearance of the skin.
