DESCRIPTION: Vitamin E-Acetate (DL-Alpha Tocopherol) is an antioxidant with skin repairing properties. It is absorbed easily into the skin and is converted enzymatically into tocopherol. It helps protect the membranes from damage by free radicals. It increases the moisture-retaining ability of the epidermis and provides a softening and supple feel to the skin. It protects the skin from UV irradiation and lipid peroxidation, preventing premature ageing. It increases enzyme activity in the skin which is an essential factor for the normal function of the skin. It prevents oxidative damage and increases epithelization of surface wounds.
In hair care, decreases the photooxidative process of decomposition in hair pigment (melanin) and hair protein (keratin).
