DESCRIPTION: SilkGlide is an emollient ester of natural vegetable origin. It offers a silicone-like touch and has excellent compatibility with the skin. When added to formulations, it helps reduce tackiness and feels light and soft on the skin. As a dispersant, it gives good wetting, very good spread and gloss.

In haircare, it assists in combing/detangling – providing high gloss, emollient glide and anti-static properties. It conditions the hair without leaving a greasy or heavy residue or build-up. In washing formulas, like shampoo, it is used as an Amodimethicone replacement with zero build-ups. When used at 1% or less, it is fully solubilised (produces a clear formulation), boosts foaming properties and increases the creaminess of the cleanser or shampoo, giving it a dense and moisturized foam improving the feel attributes. Non-drying after-feel can be enjoyed after the wash has been rinsed away.

As a solvent, it can be used to solubilize UV filters. In formulas with a high concentration of vegetable oils and mineral oil, it reduces greasiness. It has a good affinity for the skin with rapid absorption. It exhibits protection, conditioning, moisturization and lubrication.
