DESCRIPTION: Papain enzyme is a natural enzyme fraction of the papaya plant. It has moisturizing/hydrating and keratolytic activity. Papain helps remove old, dull skin cells and encourages cell regeneration. It helps dispel pimples, helps clean the face, and promotes blood circulation. It makes the skin softer and smoother, treats the harmful effects of sunburn, and helps fortify from sunburn.

Papain enzyme contains alpha phellandrene, alpha terpinene, ascorbic acid, beta carotene, citric acid, cryptoxanthin, glutamic acid, glycine, leucine, lycopene, malic acid, methionine, palmitic acid, papain, thiamin, tryptophan, and valine.

TECHNICAL ADVICE

The addition of a chelating agent like EDTA will help keep papain stable from metal ion interference. Refrigeration helps preserve its activity for a longer time (The difference in temperature during transportation does not affect the activity of papain)

Papain enzyme starts to lose its efficacy in contact with water. At room temperature, papain can last up to a year in a water-based formula. In powder foam, it can last longer than that.
