Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) is a gelling, binding, and thickening agent derived from cellulose. Water-soluble and nonionic, it is highly effective in the presence of electrolytes and acids. It gives good skin feel, viscosity and stability. It produces transparent formulations without clumping when processed properly.
