DESCRIPTION: Sodium Phytate is a naturally-derived ingredient present in rice bran. It is the sodium salt of phytic acid. Sodium Phytate has chelating properties similar to EDTA. This helps stabilize formulations and prevent discolourations. It also boosts preservative efficacy through the chelation of metal ions. In surfactant systems, it contributes to foaming properties in the presence of hard water

It acts synergistically in combination with other cosmetic antioxidants.

BENEFITS

  • Naturally-derived replacement of synthetic EDTA
  • Metal chelation
  • Preservative boosting
  • Discolouration prevention
  • Biodegradable
  • Synergistic activity with other cosmetic antioxidants.

APPLICATION: In water-soluble formulations requiring metal chelation – gels, creams, lotions, surfactant systems, etc.

This is a cosmetic raw material and is meant for external use only in cosmetic formulations.  As with all of our materials, it should not be taken internally.
