DESCRIPTION: OM-Cinnamate (also known as octinoxate, OMC, etc) is a liquid, oil-soluble organic sunscreen obtained from cinnamon. It is an ester formed from methoxycinnamic acid and (RS)-2-ethylhexanol. OM-Cinnamate is effective against UVB at the wavelength of 20-330 nm. (UVB Wavelength). This is a broad UVB radiation absorbance profile. It is one of the most tested and widely used UV-B filters and functions as a UVB blocker
OM-Cinnamate works effectively at relatively low concentrations with good stability and is particularly odourless. OMC is an exceptional addition to protective hair-care and lip-care products.
It can also act as a photo stabilizer in formulations needing photostability. We recommend UV-Shield for protecting formulations sensitive to sunlight and formulations in clear packaging.
