DESCRIPTION: Tara gum is a naturally-derived gum with thickening and gel-making properties. Sensory-wise, it gives a smooth and non-sticky appearance to formulations.
Tara gum hydrates in contact with water. It can be added to the oily phase or mixed with a humectant (e.g. propanediol) to make a slurry, before adding to water. It doesn’t give a sticky feeling like Xanthan does at the same concentration. It exhibits good pick-up. It’s compatible with most emulsifiers and many surfactants.
