DESCRIPTION: Our Tea Tree Hydrosol is an aqueous solution of the steam distillates obtained from the leaves of the Tea Tree, Melaleuca alternifolia. It is good for acne formulations and serves as an astringent and mild antibacterial skin protector. It helps to calm and to keep the skin free from blemishes.
Hydrosols are produced by distilling plant materials (leaves, bark, flowers, fruits etc) They have a scent that is reminiscent of the plant material’s essential oil but subtler – much less concentrated. They contain very little of the plant’s hydrophilic aromatic esters, so they are quite gentle on the skin. We also call them Bioactive waters because they contain the plant’s cellular water and other volatile botanical compounds that have skincare and haircare benefits.
The hydrosols we offer are specially distilled – they are not by-products or co-products. They come preserved for longer shelf life.
