DESCRIPTION: Dipotassium Glycyrrhizinate is a compound obtained from licorice root with potent efficacy in treating inflamed skin, as an anti-irritant, relieving acute and chronic dermatitis, anti-oxidative, anti-irritant and sebum-regulating properties. It reduces itchiness, redness, and irritation associated with rosacea, psoriasis and acne. It improves the appearance of dry/damaged skin by reducing flaking and promoting suppleness. It can be used in toners, essences, serums, lotions, creams conditioners, shampoos, etc
Mechanisms of action include inhibition of LTB4 and PGE2 production and histamine release inhibition with excellent antiphlogistic and anti-allergic functions. It inhibits hyaluronic acid breakdown (hyaluronidase); hyaluronic acid levels are directly related to the skin’s ability to get inflamed, as well as have allergic reactions. DPG (Dipotassium Glycyrrhizinate) prevents the degradation of hyaluronic acid, reducing inflammation with antiallergic activities. DPG improves wound healing by modulating the inflammatory process. Since it also works on the surface of the skin, it has barrier-protecting properties. It effectively removes superoxide and hydroxyl radicals, inhibits lipid peroxide functions, and is easily absorbed into the skin.
