DESCRIPTION: Zinc PCA is a multi-functional active used for anti-acne products as a wound healer, anti-microbial (bacteriostatic), and sebum regulator, in deodorant products and collagen-stimulating (anti-ageing) treatments. It can be added to toners, serums, deodorants, hair care conditioners and serums, creams, lotions, Shampoo, conditioners, etc. It possesses multiple mechanisms that help inhibit acne by reducing excessive oil production, accelerating the healing of acne scars and reducing inflammation. It acts as a deodorant on the skin and stimulates collagen production. It also suppresses the degradation of collagen brought on by ultraviolet rays thereby, helping to inhibit premature skin ageing. Moreover, it is deeply moisturizing and hydrating, and stimulates epidermal differentiation, leaving the skin supple and smooth. It also prevents acne-causing bacteria from proliferating on the skin with its antiseptic qualities. In skincare, Zinc PCA is good for treating and healing damaged skin and reinforcing the skin’s barrier function. In hair care, it prevents hair loss caused by oily scalp that causes hair loss, as well as eliminating dandruff.
In one report (manufacturer’s brochure) Zinc PCA is said to facilitate greater transportation of vitamin C within the skin in a dose-dependent manner. Therefore, it works synergistically with vitamin C to brighten the skin and boost collagen production.
