DESCRIPTION: Ginger CO2 Extract is derived from Ginger roots via supercritical fluid extraction with natural carbon dioxide. It is an ancient spice with a rich history. It is a brown to brownish-red liquid with a spicy, fresh, and warm odour and is very true to the raw material. It’s potent and ideally used in very low concentrations.
Hair Growth Inhibition
Ginger root CO2 extract contains 6-Gingerol and other components – including a portion of the essential oil. Contrary to popular belief that ginger stimulates hair growth, it actually supresses it; Gingerol (The active compound in Ginger) is confirmed to inhibit hair growth through research. In-vitro research shows significant suppression of hair growth with 6-gingerol at a concentration of 1.0 – 2.0% (See research tab).
Improved Circulation
Ginger CO2 Extract also is beneficial for its circulation-boosting and tension-relieving properties. It stimulates blood flow on the skin; therefore it is beneficial for stretch marks and anti-cellulite treatment products. It has strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps reduce UV-induced wrinkling and protects the skin from signs of premature ageing.
Collagen Protection and Anti-Ageing properties
Ginger CO2 extract also has anti-ageing properties; with a potent ability to inhibit collagen degradation. It also helps maintain protein levels in the dermis and boosts skin flexibility. With its oil-soluble nature, it is able to be absorbed into the skin more quickly.
Other potent benefits
It has antiseptic and anti-fungal properties, able to soothe itchiness. In massage oils, it possesses analgesic properties that soothe and reduce muscle aches, migraines, back pain, and menstrual cramps.
