DESCRIPTION: Licorice Extract (Glabradin Glabra) is an off-white coloured powder used in cosmetics for skin lightening and anti-inflammatory activity. It is widely accepted as a non-irritating extract for skin lightening with soothing properties It is able to fade dark spots and uneven pigmentation, reduce the severity of hyperpigmentation and brighten the complexion.
The skin lightening mechanism of action involves reducing the inflammatory reaction that causes skin darkening, inhibiting tyrosinase, and making already formed pigments less intense, resulting in a brighter and more even skin tone.
The Difference between the 3 Licorice extracts we stock
Licorice Extract – White has a higher content of Glabradin and a high content of liquidity – making it preferable for skin lightening (Off-white/Beige powder 1.0 -2.0%).
Licorice Extract – Soothe has a lower content of Glabradin and a higher content of Glycyrrhizic acid, making it ideal for anti-inflammatory purposes (White powder (0.5 – 5.0%).
Lico-White: A high concentration of liquiritigenin which lightens already produced melanin for a more even and lighter complexion and combats acne. (Viscous Liquid 0.2 – 1.0%)
