DESCRIPTION: Activ-Shield (Sodium metabisulfite) is a preservative due to its anti-microbial properties and active protecting agent. It is used in cosmetics for actives prone to discolouration such as those prone to photo-instability like kojic acid.
At no more than 0.2% used in cosmetics as a preservative, the CIR considers Sodium MetabisulfiTe as GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe).
