DESCRIPTION: Caprylyl Glycol is a skin conditioning agent with anti-microbial properties. It is derived from caprylic acid, a saturated fatty acid found in some plants. It is a medium-chain triglyceride with antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties. Capryly Glycol is used in leave-on products as a humectant/skin conditioner.
In formulations, capryloyl glycol boosts the effectiveness of traditional preservatives. It also has a unique, emollient skin feel.
