DESCRIPTION: Citric acid is a natural alpha-hydroxy acid derived from corn and sugar beets through natural fermentation. It is mainly used in cosmetics as a Ph adjuster and a mild ion chelator. It is an acidifier, that brings the pH of aqueous solutions lower – less alkaline. It also has a buffering effect – helping to maintain the pH between 2.5 – 6.5.
