DESCRIPTION: Citric acid is a natural alpha-hydroxy acid derived from corn and sugar beets through natural fermentation. It is mainly used in cosmetics as a Ph adjuster and a mild ion chelator. It is an acidifier, that brings the pH of aqueous solutions lower – less alkaline. It also has a buffering effect – helping to maintain the pH between 2.5 – 6.5. Citric acid also acts as an antioxidant, exfoliating and skin toning agent, anti-wrinkle effects and moisturization. in higher concentrations,

Solubility: Water

Use rate: 0.1 – 10.0%

Formulating pH: Do not use below 3.5

Appearance: Fine white odourless powder

Storage: Store in a cool, dark and dry place

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

To make an acid pH adjuster, use the formula below

Phase A: Water 70%

Phase A: Citric acid 30%

Mix phase A together until the crystals are completely dissolved. Pour off in a sterilized bottle.

To adjust the pH, add a little bit of the solution at a time while checking the pH.
