DESCRIPTION: Epidev (Dimethyl Isosorbide) is a highly purified solvent and carrier which offers a safe and effective delivery enhancement mechanism for active ingredients in personal care products. It is naturally-derived from renewable corn sugar. In addition to improving performance, its use as an epidermal penetration enhancer can allow formulators to reduce the concentration of actives required to achieve effects, resulting in reduced formulation costs, and lower skin irritation with aggressive active ingredients. It increases the lifespan of actives within the skin and is non-irritating to both eyes and skin. It improves the shelf life of formulations containing unstable actives

Epidev is beneficial in formulations that require deeper penetration, such as anti-ageing, anti-acne, skin lightening, etc. It is very helpful when formulating with vitamins. It greatly improves the efficient delivery of water-soluble actives into the skin. This allows the formulator to use lower concentrations of active which translates to lower costs. Therefore, Epidev gives both improved formulation effects and cost reductions.

Epidev offers better active stability for actives prone to hydrolysis or transesterification. It prevents the recrystallization of actives. Produces a clear formulation, allowing use in a wide range of product types – from clear gels to creme cleansers, etc
